Sent on 5 May 2018, the NASA InSight Mars lander successfully landed on Mars on November 26 2018, after a 458 million km (301 million miles) journey.
This Mars lander is so special, because it will not only study the surface of the Red Planet, but also its interior, so we can understand more about the geology of the planet and how it was formed, by seismometers, and other sensors on the probe.
When the touchdown the planet, the probe sent a photo
to confirm that the signal with the Earth is good and that it is in one piece. This is the first photo sent, the camera being covered by dust.
More about the planet itself and the InSight lander you can find in the hyperlinks!
Have a nice day!
