Artificial satellites are spacecraft built by humans, that study a celestial body, or help the communications. There are thousands of satelites orbiting Earth or studying other plants in our solar system.
All satellites have a body, an antenna to send the information and other sensors or cameras to take the information and send it to Earth.
Today I will teach you how to make a model of a satellite!
You will need:
- Scissors
- Carton box
- Aluminum foil
- Paper
- Barbecue stick
- Carton
- Glue
- Scotch (tape)
First let’s make the body. Take a carton box and cover it with aluminum foil, like you would pack a present.
You can use some glue or scotch to make it hold together. What are satellites and how can you make the model of one? Check our newest post on our website!
Now let’s make the antenna. Take a piece of paper and cut it in a circle form. Mark the center of the circle and cut through its radius. Now put the pieces over each other until you get a antenna disk shape.
You should glue the paper together, putting a barbecue stick in the middle of the disk.
Stab the stick in the box and now you have your antenna on the satellite.
This is just an example of how you can do it. You can be creative and make the model more complex. If you did it, send us a picture of it on the email address
